A place full of history
The Palácio Vila Flor, located in Alfama close to Lisbon’s cathedral, built in the 18th century, belonged to the Earls of Vila Flor. The whole palace (in particular the courtyard and terrace) transports us to ancient Lisbon: the vintage and traditional portuguese decoration and original tiles emphasize the history and charisma of the place, despite a few modern day touches.
In the front area (that houses the courtyard, houses of Amores, Dálias, Jasmins and Rosas and the reception) you could find the palace’s well, since then replaced by a lonesome palm tree, the area being the employees quarters. The Earls’ apartments are now the house of Condes (Earls) and the house of Rio (River), where you can find all the other rooms, the terrace and the breakfast room.
